One of the greatest features in HostGator, it provides one click install to WordPress through their control panel. By doing so, you enter the site through backdoor. It is easy and can be done with few simple steps.
Step 01. Select the Domain Name
First, you can enter the control panel supplying the C panel username and password and find WordPress one click install. You can find this in popular link or scroll down until you find the WordPress icon as below. Do not bother about the number of icons, you will find this easily.
Once you click on the icon, you will be asked to select your domain name. Leave the directory space blank otherwise your web address may look like a sub domain. If you have got your domain name from elsewhere, other than HostGator domain, you should transfer domain before you come to this part. Normally it takes up to 24 hours to take this action complete.
If you have got your domain name from NameCheap, you can follow this guide to transfer your domain to HostGator. There is an added advantage if you get domain name from another partner; not only it is cheap but also you do not need to stick to one hosting partner.
Step 02. Provide Details and Perform Installation
Once you select the domain, in the next step you will be asked to fill the basic details about you and the blog. Admin User will be your user name. Fill in the details and click install now.
Within few minutes the installation will complete and if the things went fine you will see a success message.
You will see the Username and the self generated password. Password may look ugly; do not worry you can change it in your WordPress dashboard under user menu. It takes about 2 hours to 24 hours to set the things up. Meanwhile you can have break and when you come back, your blog will be ready to go.
Step 03. Log into your WordPress Dashboard
Your log in URL will be http://yourdomain/wp-admin or the link in WordPress install in Control Panel. You can provide your username and the generated password, enter your WP dashboard and click visit site then if the transfer is completed, you will see the default Hello World! theme.
