Writing Your First Blog Post on WordPress
Writing the first blog post is a newer experience for a newbie blogger. WordPress provides you with handy tools where you can publish your post effectively. You must have self hosted in BlueHost or DreamHost and installed WordPress in a secure platform. Read How to install WordPress on BlueHost here.
If you are ready, Let’s start new > post from the top tool bar or from the left tool bar post>new post.
Here you will see an editor just like word pad on Windows. You can add the title of the blog post in the top space. You will have to be familiar with the tools in the editor. They must be very familiar to you if you are already use any word editor like Microsoft word or Wordpad.
The link and unlink tools help you to add text hyperlinks to navigate through posts or add new links to other sites.
The Show/hide toggle button will show another tools with extra features(Kitchen Sink). You can resize your font size and headings here.
You can use toggle distraction free writing mode to go to full screen mode. Use paragraph section to add headings and sub headings. The question mark right at the end will show the keyboard shortcuts and other useful stuff.
Add media section helps you to add pictures, videos and audio clips to your posts. You can edit permalinks, if you want to add a different name to your post and get high SEO benefits.
As a beginner, you better use visual editor mode rather than text mode. If you are comfortable with HTML, you can use HTML editor too.
Now your blog post is ready to go. Make sure you have checked your spellings and added your media and links properly. You can click the publish tool to unleash your post to the world.

This is only a basic set of instructions to show that it is not that a huge task to write a blog post. You should be careful to write useful blog posts for your readers. Merely writing a post would not attract your audience. Here are few things you should do on the course of publishing your blog posts.
1. Optimize your on page SEO. You can use the free plugin Yoast for this.
2. Publicize your blog posts through social media like Facebook, Google+, Twitter. WordPress has publicize option in publish section. By configuring this WordPress will automatically send your new post to social media. You do not have to do it manually.
3. Add videos from YouTube, if you can make a video and run a channel in YouTube.
